Ezviz C6 AI smart camera review: Affordable home security device delivers crisp 360-degree images – Mark Kavanagh

This Ezviz C6 2K+ smart home camera review can help you keep an eye on your home while you’re away.

Designed for indoor use, the Ezviz C6 2K+ smart home camera lets you monitor your home from anywhere in the world.

It is a device the size and shape of a white tennis ball with a flat bottom and it measures 100mm × 100mm × 96.5mm.

It has the ability to pan 353 degrees and tilt 113 degrees, giving you an almost panoramic view of your room.

Images are captured in 2K+ resolution (2560×1440p) using a 4MP camera.

I’ve reviewed several security cameras from Ezviz, pronounced Easy Vis, before – and whether they’re indoor or outdoor cameras, I’ve always been pleased with the quality and reliability.

Smart features

This new model includes human and animal motion detection as well as a two-way talk system. So it is a great choice for parents and pet owners.

It can also give you peace of mind if you are going on vacation.

Images are crisp and clear and faces are easy to see and there is little distortion. The camera has auto zoom tracking to make it easier to see a person’s face.

The camera starts recording when it detects human or animal movement, and you can also set it to start recording if it hears a loud noise.

There’s also a gesture recognition feature which means anyone waving at the camera can call your phone.

Video quality

At night, the images are captured using infrared lights and they are black and white.

Ezviz C6 2K+ has mechanical pan and tilt which provides almost 360 degree view

As if all that wasn’t enough, you can sync the camera with Alexa using an Alexa skill which is especially handy if you have an Echo Show device as you can cast the camera to your screen.

There is also support for Google Assistant.

A drawback is the fact that you cannot define activity zones.

I placed the C6 2K+ on a coffee table to test it out, but you can wall mount it if you want – there’s a drilling template and screw kit included in the box.

The C6 is easy to install, but you need to download the Ezviz mobile app and create an account to get started.

The rear of the C6 contains the power input and an Ethernet port

Your footage can be stored on a microSD card (up to 256GB) or using Ezviz CloudPlay storage – the latter incurs a monthly subscription fee and unfortunately Ezviz is not as competitive in this regard as competitors such as Google Nest.

Overall, this easy-to-install camera delivers crisp 2K video and motion alerts arrive quickly on your smartphone.
