Physical and digital photo organizer, this gadget doubles as a projector to preserve your memories!

PIC is a photo organization system that includes a circular remote control and projector allowing users to easily manage and maintain their many digital photos.

As our memories grow, so do our photo albums. We take photos almost every day to preserve memories of all kinds. From camping trips to weddings, our photo albums are filled with visual records that remind us of time spent with friends and connecting to nature.

While taking photos has never been so convenient, our photo albums are nightmares to scroll through and locate specific photos we’d like to come back to. PIC, a new way to organize photos, is a physical and digital photo organizer designed by a team of designers for Samsung Design Membership.

Broken down into three steps, PIC helps users organize all their memories and related photos through a step-by-step guided process. Physically, PIC looks like an external hard drive, with a two-tone translucent body that looks right at home on the coffee table or windowsill. Consisting of two parts, the round remote is the main controller of PIC.

Moving on to the organization scheme developed by the design team, PIC first asks users to delete unwanted photographs. Using the round selector, users can project their photo albums onto any external projector to enlarge their photos and easily determine which photos they want to keep. On either side of the PIC remote, a circular icon represents holding the photo in question, while a dotted line clicks when the user wants to remove a photo.

From there, PIC’s designers developed the flagship scene. During the highlight phase, users rank the photos they have curated in order of preference. Based on a digital sticker system, users can apply many stickers on the photos they prefer. For their least favorite photos, users don’t need to apply stickers.

Finally, during the cover phase, users can choose a cover image for the photo album that is the most representative of the memory formed by the photo album. This means that if a photo triggers your memory of other photos taken at the same place or at the same time, then that photo will represent the entire album, leading you to all the photos you decided to keep in the first step. organization.
